Dofi Messaging Program · Effective date: June 16, 2026
Dofi is an AI-powered receptionist platform for local businesses — nail salons, spas, barbershops, home-service companies (such as cleaning or junk removal), and similar appointment-based businesses. When you call a business powered by Dofi, an AI agent answers the phone, takes your booking or service request, and may send you a text message confirmation or reminder. Every text message is sent on behalf of and in the name of the specific business you contacted — not by Dofi in its own name. Dofi operates as a technology service provider on behalf of each participating business.
The full privacy policy and SMS program terms governing all messages are at trydofi.com/privacy.html#sms and trydofi.com/terms.html#sms-terms.
Consent is collected in one of three ways, depending on how you interact with the business:
When you call a Dofi-powered business and book an appointment, the AI agent collects your phone number to complete the booking. At the time the booking is confirmed, the AI provides a brief verbal disclosure that a reminder text will be sent, and informs you of the opt-out option. You confirm the booking verbally.
The call is recorded. That recording is the record of consent — it captures: (1) the caller's voluntary provision of their phone number, (2) the AI's disclosure of SMS contact, and (3) the caller's verbal confirmation of the booking.
The disclosure above is delivered at the moment consent is given — when the caller confirms the appointment and the booking is recorded in the system. No additional scripted consent question is asked; the booking itself, combined with the caller's voluntary provision of their phone number and the verbal SMS disclosure, constitutes consent under applicable TCPA guidelines for transactional messaging.
If a caller asks the AI to text them specific information during a call — for example, directions to the business or an address link — that request itself is express consent to receive that specific message. No other messages are sent as a result of this action. The call recording serves as the record of the request.
When booking through an online form on a participating business's page, a clearly labeled, unchecked checkbox is presented before submission:
The checkbox is unchecked by default. Only consumers who actively check the box and submit the form are enrolled. The submission timestamp is logged as the consent record.
All messages identify the specific business by name. No short links, no marketing content.
To stop receiving messages: reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to any text. You will receive one final confirmation message and no further texts will be sent to your number from that business. To resume, reply START.
For help: reply HELP to any message, or contact us at contact@trydofi.com.
You may also decline during a call by telling the AI agent you do not want to receive text messages. Your booking will proceed normally — consent is never a condition of service.
Message types: Transactional and informational only — booking and service-request confirmations, appointment reminders, rescheduling or cancellation updates, and information you specifically request during a call. No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent through the Dofi Messaging Program.
Photos (MMS): Some businesses accept photos by text so they can prepare an estimate. Photos are sent only at the customer's own choice and are never required. If you send photos, you may receive a short reply confirming receipt. The program never requests photos for marketing purposes.
Message frequency: Varies based on booking activity — typically 1–4 messages per appointment or request, plus any messages you individually request. No recurring messages are sent.
Message & data rates: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Carriers: Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Consent is not required to purchase: Agreeing to receive text messages is never a condition of booking or purchasing any product or service from the business.
No third-party sharing: No mobile information or consent data is shared with third parties for marketing purposes. See our full privacy policy for details.
